Crisis between colleagues!

Today, a special meeting of the Board of Directors of Tabs the Cat Industries, LLC was called to review a most disturbing matter — the repeated and inexplicable disappearance of Chief Feline Officer Rosie’s crunchies.

At various times over the past few weeks, Rosie’s food bowl, which had been previously full, has become empty, and as you can imagine, this caused quite a corporate kerfuffle.

The results of an internal investigation were inconclusive, but Rosie thinks she knows who’s doing it…

Since the official investigation was inconclusive, the board hasn’t taken any action, but Rosie’s suspicions have created a lot of tension…

Sundays With Tabs the Cat, Makeup and Beauty Blog Mascot, Vol. 861

Unfortunately for Marnie, she has a lengthy record of snack theft, so her history isn’t doing her any favors.

Plus, she was captured on security footage early this morning in the vicinity of Rosie’s food bowl. When asked about it by the company investigator, Marnie lawyered up…

I just hope this gets resolved soon because it’s been bad for morale in the office. 🙂

Here’s Everything I Brought On Tiktok Recently That I Don’t Need but Totally Wanted

Wakey wakey friends! It’s Monday! I’m still on a little mini vacay over here and just cleaned the AirBNB top to bottom like it’s my career choice. I hinched the sh1t out of this place. Honestly, it was completely flawless when we arrived but I’m just extra. Is anyone this anal or is it just me? My boyfriend just sat to the side with a raised brow the entire time. I hope your week is productive, I hope the sun is shining wherever you are, and I hope you’re obsessively cleaning stuff like me today because nothing feels as a good as a clean, well organized living space.

Shall we chat a little Tiktok? Save and Auau are living rent free on my FYP since February (I’m actually sending them a bill if my feed doesn’t refresh at some point). Pretty sure his cat origins have now been revealed with the “Mai Ao” (meaning no or I don’t want) which basically sounds like meowwwww! What’s funnier is he drops Auau’s government name in there.

Before those two hit my FYP I kept getting TJ Maxx and Marshall haul videos. I was fascinated watching people go to TJ everyday to hunt out Hello Kitty Blankets and Juicy Purses. It was like Survival of the Fittest to snag a Hello Kitty Blanket at TJ. There was even a point where the same lady was snatching them up and other people were recording her. Fights happened, people lost limbs (dramatized for the blog), it was chaos.

But in between AuauSave, Juicy Bags, and Hello Kitty Blankets I still got my fair share of Tiktok QVC-style ads and of course, I was lured into purchasing things I didn’t need but totally wanted. Here’s everything I brought on Tiktok recently.

Guess who’s back? Back again! Rhode Pocket Blush in Sprinkle! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Everyone throw up there hands and scream! I missed out on Sprinkle the first go around and the FOMO was for realsie! I felt pretty sure I’d never experience the joys of this peachy pink shimmery cream blush! But it’s back! I got mine on the Rhode Tiktok Shop but it’s also available on the Rhode website. I’m eagerly awaiting for it to arrive.

So you may or not be into the Labubu craze at the moment. Popmart has been breaking down left and right with people trying to grab blind boxes but their big push of the moment is the Skull Panda Winter Symphony Series. I swore to myself I was not going to buy any more bag charms and absolutely no more Labubus. That being said I can’t get away from Popmart trying to force me into a purchase of the Winter Symphony Series. They have been seriously trying to unload these. I finally caved and purchased a blind box. Why am I so weak?

We all know, love, and hoard Beauty of Joseon sunscreen but did you know they now have a Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen SPF 40? This dropped on Tiktok shop recently and I quickly snatched up a shade. I’m not a big believer in SPF tints just because I feel like I’m not applying enough for proper protection. But I am a HUGE fan of lightweight, natural tints and this looks like a really nice tint for Summer wear! I’ll be reviewing it soon so stayed tuned!

Only on Tiktok Shop can you discover the fact that Palmer’s dropped a Tahitian Vanilla Body Lotion. I would never know about this if it wasn’t for Tiktok Shop! I snagged a bottle so fast! I hope it smells amazing!

Do you do any Tiktok shopping? What have you purchased recently from Tiktok shop? Do share!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Makeup and Beauty Blog Monday Poll, Vol. 878
Have a peaceful Monday

So…what is the Monday Poll?

Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).

1. What made you smile today?

It’s early in the day (I just woke up 30 minutes ago), but so far petting Marnie and Rosie, and re-reading the homemade Mother’s Day card Connor made are two things that made me smile.

2. What’s the first thing you do when you get home and walk through the door?

Hmmm, well, I want to say that I usually take off my shoes first thing because, hello, I need foot freedom (shoes are so oppressive), but I think what I technically do is lock the door behind me.

3. What’s your favorite cereal?

Does oatmeal count? If it doesn’t then, it’s Kellogg’s Special K with the dried red strawberries. I don’t really eat it for breakfast, though. It’s more of a snack thing.

4. What would you never give away?

My furry family. I understand that sometimes tough decisions need to be made to rehome pets, but it’s just something I don’t think I could do.

5. What’s your favorite summer activity?

Even though it gets a little more uncomfortable the older I get, I do quite enjoy camping during the summer, especially on the Russian River.

It’s almost dusk here at Casa de MBB, and we’re getting cleaned up and ready for bed, but I still wanted to wish you a Happy Mother’s Day.

There’s so much to say about Mother’s Day, isn’t there? It can be an emotional day in many ways for many reasons, different for everyone. People have such different relationships with their parents and their children and all of the creatures they care for, and life is fleeting. We all lose our care givers and loved ones someday, and days like today mean different things to all of us at different times in our lives.

I pray and hope your day was good to you.

Every Mother’s Day, just like every other day, I also think about Tabs.

Oh! — sometimes when I see an old picture like this one below, I tear up, especially on Mother’s Day.

Sundays With Tabs the Cat, Makeup and Beauty Blog Mascot, Vol. 860

I sure miss my special boy!

Rosie

As you may or may not know, Rosie the Magnificent has her own connection to Mother’s Day because she is…

A mother!

Happy Mother’s Day, Rosie.

This is one of her brood. These were pictures I took when she still lived with my friend, who was Rosie’s foster family in 2019. It was a few months after Tabs crossed the Rainbow Bridge, and I missed being around cats. Visiting Rosie and getting to know her helped me with my grief.

These pics were taken shortly after Rosie had kittens, and I really got to see how caring and sweet she was.

Rosie did a great job, and all of her kittens were adopted.

Over those months in 2019, Rosie’s loving nature guided me to open up my heart to a feline friend again, and now she’s a member of our family.

Happy Mother’s Day, Rosie, and to you as well. ❤️

Karen

Spring Things That Got Added to My Cart

I’m on vacation this week and the weather is stunning but I’m hearing we got some crappy weather back home. New York really doesn’t understand what it wants to do with Spring this year. How’s everyone doing? Sorry for the delay in posts lately. I’m just trying to find the energy to actually blog beauty lately. It feels tone deaf to talk about makeup when things feel a little insane with the world. But I keep trying to remind myself how many of you visit me to escape from the chaos. Thank you. Thank you for being with me here to find your calm. I find mine with you.

Shall we discuss some Spring things I added to my cart this week?

Dior and Chanel Summer 2025 we’re rather amazing this year. In a sea of beauty releases that are getting cheaper and cheaper yet more and more expensive (You totally know what I mean by that right?) Chanel and Dior still managed to create something swoon worthy for the warm weather ahead. The new Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Golden Glow Powder is stunning. Available in two shade selections this illuminating powder duo creates the look of the golden hour on cheeks and face. Out of the two shades, Eclat du Soir is the most unique with a strawberry pink shade paired up with a soft orange-y coral. I indulged in that shade for myself. I’m eager to try it out and of course, will review it here soon!

I was on a plane when Heartetc dropped their Daisy’s Dream Collection but have no fear I was prepared to order! I haven’t purchased anything since the Mr. Cookie drop and I was eager for a fix and something cute for Spring. And of course, it wasn’t disappointing! I’m screaming at the Daisy Knit Vest! It feels like something Kon Diao would wear in Cutie Pie! I got it along with the Daisy Bundle that includes a beautiful cardigan. Sadly, it’s going to be hot to wear either one as Summer is soon on the way but I’ll tuck them away for Fall. The vest is only available in large. I really wanted to layer it for a bulky look so not sure how well the large is going to layer with another shirt. I’m thinking baggy jeans, cute blouse, vest, and my cute pastel yellow Converse. We’ll see! I also grabbed the Daisy Pink Tee. Daisy is over there being the Choupette of Thailand now haha! Too cute! Also, I still have pieces from Jason Wu’s Milu drop years ago! I thought combining Daisy and Milu would be a sweet contrast. Gotta go dig out my Milu stuff now! The collection is limited so get it while you can.

I don’t need another Selkie Puff Dress in my life but my only excuse is I haven’t purchased one since the pandemic. And also, I wanted something cute to wear to a Stray Kids concert so, yes, my Spring fling dress purchase was the Head in the Clouds French Puff Dress from Selkie. I have a cloud pair of Converse to wear with it. I am prepared to look cutely ridiculous please and thank you ever so much! Speaking of dresses…! I have a Spring garden party I’ll be attending at the end of the month and I wanted some cute and simple to wear to it so I picked up this pastel yellow Button-Front Pleated Shirt Dress from Anthropologie. I was a little worried it would be a bit short for the occasion but being being height challenged it works for me and what would be short on a taller person is just the right size for someone that’s shorter! I was also worried it would be wrinkled AF when it arrived as I’m not a fan of ironing or steaming but it actually arrived perfectly! I’m going to pair it up with a simple, white flat pair of Keds and call it an outfit.

We need to really have a sit down intervention for me and my bag charm situation. Things are getting out of hand. Between the Labubus and charms my purses are starting to look like a kindergarten art project. I recently grabbed the Vera Bradley Star Wars Bag Charm which is so cute for Spring! I couldn’t resist but I promise, I won’t buy anymore bag charms (don’t hold me to this promise).

As you know I’m all about light, natural coverage. My skin has always been in really good condition and aside from dullness it doesn’t require a ton of coverage as I have no real issues to hide. Lighter, more natural skin tints are perfect for me and I’m so glad they’re getting their moment in the sun thanks to Gen Zers being in their clean girl and boy eras. Lancôme Skin Idôle 3 Serum Supertint Skin Tint just dropped and it’s just in time for Spring and Summer lightweight coverage. I grabbed this as soon as it launched. It’s light, natural, has a serum-like consistency, absorbs easily, and gives skin perfect, lightweight coverage.

What’s have you purchased for Spring?

LVHM Blames Amazon for Slow Sephora Sales

So, LVHM is over there blaming Amazon for slow Sephora sales. As for me, I’m all, say what now? According to LVHM CFO 2025’s Q1 earnings report was down 3% due to Amazon’s aggressive pricing strategy. Stores are thriving but e-commerce is taking a smaller hit in the US because of Amazon which isn’t actually beating Sephora prices but does match them at the same price. However, that being said select items are showing at better prices on Amazon such as Kérastase’s Gloss Absolu which is sold at Sephora for $36 but on Amazon at $26. Although, they have seen an overall revenue fall the company says they are still feeling very sound during turbulent times and feels sales will improve.

Sephora hasn’t addressed the Spring Savings Event and likely won’t but according to Beauty Independent sales there was a slide in sales during the event this year. They reported that Ulta’s Spring Beauty Haul had more organic traffic than Sephora’s Spring Savings Event and had a decline overall expect in the bath, body, and haircare categories. I know I personally didn’t do a major sale haul this year. I just didn’t find anything of interest I needed or wanted. I also, think the sale came at a rather bad time during the tariff war discussions. Beauty brands are scrambling to figure out how to survive in these uncertain times. Many smaller indie brands are just closing up shop which is sad and even more popular ones from the youTube era are closing down (Glam Glow is one that went down recently).

We’ll have to wait and see if sales improve but I can’t say that Amazon is Sephora’s biggest issue. Ulta being Sephora’s biggest competition with a better cash back rewards program, better sales, and outstanding brand growth (they’ve brought in so many brands in the last five to six years). Also, Tiktok has been a huge source of direct brand purchasing making it easy enough to bypass Sephora completely, buy from the brand direct with free shipping, and sometimes an even cheaper price.

I wish Sephora success but the last few years has been very turbulent for them. I’m still a Sephora girlie but I’ll readily admit the bulk of money spent on beauty isn’t with Sephora lately. I’m curious how things will go in the next few months especially as the Holidays grow closer!

Makeup and Beauty Blog Monday Poll, Vol. 877

So…what is the Monday Poll?

Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).

1. Pick how much ice you’d like in your drink: all the way to the brim, half full, a few cubes or no ice at all?

Half full, please. That’s purr-fect!

2. Have you ever raised a puppy or a kitten?

Yes. It’s a wonderful experience, but be prepared to have your nice things destroyed! Oh, and you can forget about your couch ever looking pristine again.

3. How often do you hit the snooze button in the morning?

Just once. I used to just get up when the alarm went right off, but lately, eh, I’ve been loving a little extra sleep.

4. What decade has the best clothes?

I’m probably biased because I wish I could go back to 1998 at least once a day, but I think the ‘90s had some great clothes. Everything I had wasn’t too tight or too itchy, and the quality seemed to be made better overall. The other day El Hub and I spent an inordinate amount of time talking about how the socks in the ‘90s were better, but I swear they lasted longer. Nowadays, I feel like I’m buying new socks every six months.

5. What decade has the best music: ‘70s, ‘80s’, ‘90s or 2000s?

Oh boy, don’t make me choose! I guess overall I’d go with ‘80s music. I can always find something I like from that era.

What’s Your Best Interaction with a Beauty Guru, Influencer, or Creator?

One thing I’ve always find challenging about blogging was keeping up with comments, e-mails, and private messages. It can be a little overwhelming sometimes as I want to be there for everyone and I want to answer everyone but sometimes I can’t. But I try hard to get back to everyone and do my best to interact as much as I can because not only do I appreciate it when someone takes time to like my content, say hello, or to have a little quick chat with me in the comment box but also, because I enjoy it. I don’t think of any of you as fans of followers but more my online friends and family. I’m not the biggest creator around but I have a good deal of interactions with people who enjoy my content and I love it. Just last week I was chatting with someone for an hour on Instagram and it was so nice getting to know the person beyond mere likes and small comments here and there.

One thing I’ll never understand are celebs, influencers, creators, etc…that completely fail to interact. Hey, when you have 100 million followers it can be hard to interact personally with everyone however, I do wish there was a little more interaction. And I think in the case of beauty gurus, Tiktokers, etc..they do have the ability to be a bit more interactive but just don’t bother for some reason.

Here are some interactions I’ve had that are pretty awesome.

Barry Brandon aka thequeerindigo
If you want stunning Instagram reels thequeerindigo is here for that. He’s also here to reply to your comments and be sweetly chatty in dms with you! Every interaction I’ve had with Barry has always been flawless. He’s just a humble glamourous person. I never thought I’d use humble and glam in the same sentence but that’s exactly the best way to describe him!

The Pasta Queen
During the pandemic the Pasta Queen was such a comfort watch for me (she still is for me) and she was absolutely one of the sweetest people to talk with one on one or via her comments. She never failed to slip into my dms and reply to me or interact in the comments. And to this day, after gaining many followers, she’s still one really awesome with her followers.

Donovan
Such a humble and kind man. He not only followed me on Twitter but at a concert I attended with a meet and greet he literally recognized me from Twitter. Truly a Sunshine Superman.

Sah.Van.Girl
A lovely lady living her best life in a van with her husband and just over there making feel good Tiktoks about her simple daily days. She never speaks in her videos and we just get a privy of food she makes, her daily jogs, and small little bits of her life living in a van. One thing she never forgets is to interact with her followers. She’s sweet, kind, quick to reply, and appreciates you joking around with her. She reminds me there are creators on Tiktokers that aren’t toxic.

Funmimonet
A top notch Tiktoker that’s a joy to watch as she grows bigger and bigger daily. I found out via DM one day she followed by blog back in the day and it was a surprise and delight to hear. She’s always super interactive, very sweet, and totally unapologetic about loving fragrance.

Experiment Beauty and Founder Emmy Ketcham
Not an influencer really but Experiment Beauty is always super interactive with their fans. I find this very rare with beauty brands but Experiment is always really super interactive, quick to joke with people in comments, and just an overall unproblematic brand. The founder, Emmy, is just as amazing. She’s always been very supportive of content I’ve done, always quick to dm and thank me, and just a joy to talk to. I found out she was also an old school reader of the blog and I really felt all kinds of flattered she knew who I was.

Thai Actors
If you need fan serving Thai boys are here for you. They’ll repost, like, comment, and slip into your dms to send you a quick heart or a thank you. I started rewatching dramas recently and enjoying new ones lately and of course, like any weirdo fan girl I’m tagging my favs and most of them are so not shy about replying back to me when I do or to watch my stories and like my content. When it comes to interaction they understand the assignment. I think they are just genuinely appreciative of you being a fan and all of them are green flags for being such sports with giddy fan girls. It’s rather wild as celebrities here in the US would never. Bar none the interactions I’ve had with them would be the best I’ve had online. And if you take time out to watch some of their fan event interactions it’s pretty crazy. They are seeing hundred of fans daily during tours and they are just not exhausted by it (They probably are but you’d never be able to tell with the permanent smile on their face!). Fans can be a bit overwhelming during some interactions and asking them to act out something on demand and they do it all with a smile. I saw a Tiktok of one of a girl asking Nouel to act like she was his ex girlfriend and he did it. That’s beyond weird to me (And def steps over boundaries for me personally) but he happily did it for her. Bonus points for Chinese Actors! Simon Lian in particular is such a doll and always patiently replies to me. Extra bonus points to Perth Nakhun Screaigh who has his own youTube channel with very interesting content about the industry and just his nerdiness (although, listening to him speak Thai in a drama is hard on my ears LOL because the Australian accent somehow seems to still come through! ) Very down to earth dude that’s quick to interact with his fans.

Lindsey Kelk
Author, friend, and just an overall amazing person. Lindsey is the type of person that loves what she does and appreciates the people who love it too. She’s always quick to interact with her readers and has always been supportive of me and this blog.

Tarababyz
I’m not really a youTube type of girl but I always make time to watch Tara’s content. She’s always very good with interacting with her following, has always been lovely to reply to me, and just really a humble and interesting makeup lover.

How about you? Who are some of your fav content creators, beauty gurus, or youTubers who have interacted with you on a personal level that you appreciate? Who are some that may have disappointed you with their lack of replies or interaction?

Do share!

Love Shack Fancy Forever In Love Eau De Parfum with Swarovski Crystals Is Only 00

Welcome to a world where a carton of eggs will set you back $17.99 and a Love Shack Fancy Forever In Love Eau De Parfum with Swarovski Crystals is only a $1000.

A huge trend on Tiktok right now is bedazzling everything. Influecners are gifted everything from Vaseline to Glow Recipe Moisturizer decked out in gems that rival the K-Tel BeDazzler from the 80s which was apparently the height of gem fashion statements. I’m actually surprised they haven’t started selling these yet. I mean, I can’t say I wouldn’t buy a sparkly encrusted jar of vaseline. I’m that girl! Shrug.

What I won’t drop me on is a Love Shack Fancy Forever In Love Eau De Parfum Swarovski Crystal bottle for $1000 bucks. Dude..dude…dudeeeeeeee…come on! First off, it likely isn’t refillable or if it is it’ll be messy to refill. It’s embellished with over 1,500 tiny pink Swarovski Crystals. Why do I feel like I can buy a bottle of Love Shack Fancy and send it off to some Etsy seller who can do this for me for hundreds of dollars less? I get they’re Swarovski Crystals but still…!

My girly side thinks this is beautiful but my logical side is like, “No, effing way am I dropping a thousand bucks on this. I gotta better things to do with my money! Sorry Love Shack Fancy! Love you, just don’t love this release.

Would you splurge on this?
